THE WELCOME TO AMERICA PROJECT
The Welcome to American Project celebrates and welcomes the international community
to the greater city of Nashville. Hundreds of refugees and
internationals arrive in Nashville every year through the aid of the
community and agencies like World Relief.
With the partnership and generosity of the
community and the local church, this Thanksgiving you can help an
international family by donating a “Welcome to America” Food Basket to
tend to the basic needs of a family this holiday.
This is an opportunity to celebrate
Thanksgiving by welcoming today’s “pilgrims” to our shores. Although
they did not arrive on the Mayflower, these internationals, especially
refugees, who arrive in Nashville every day are gaining new hope for a
better life, similarly to the pilgrims in 1620. Due to the aid of the
natives in the land, the pilgrims were warmly welcomed. We also can play
the part of welcoming these newcomers to our shores. This is a simple
way both individuals and families can participate in blessing a new
family.
